Kazakhstan continues to work to compensate for flood damage

The government of Kazakhstan continues the process of compensation for damage to citizens affected by large-scale floods, Ritmeurasia.

As of May 4, 16,168 families received a one-time payment in the amount of 100 MCI in the amount of more than 5.7 billion tenge - about $12.4 million. The volume of payments for dead livestock exceeded 916 million tenge.

To date, 4,556 residential buildings have been inspected in the affected regions, and assessments have been carried out on 2,845 properties.

More than 696 million tenge was allocated for repairs and housing restoration. This affected 530 families.

Another 53 families received houses and apartments to replace destroyed housing in Akmola, Kostanay, Karaganda and Pavlodar regions.
