Tajikistan and Turkey agree on joint defense

The defense agencies of Tajikistan and Turkey have signed an agreement on defense cooperation and a protocol for the implementation of financial assistance, the Anadolu Agency reports.

The document was signed by the Minister of National Defense of Turkey, Yashar Guler, and the Minister of Defense of Tajikistan, Sherali Mirzo.

The signing took place on the sidelines of the 16th International Defense Industry Exhibition - IDEF 2023, which is being held in Turkey from July 25 to 28.

According to this agreement, Tajikistan and Turkey have committed to cooperate in defense matters and exchange expertise in border protection and counterterrorism.

This step aims to strengthen security and stability in the Central Asian region and confirms the mutual interest of the two countries in developing partnership relations.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense of Tajikistan has not yet specified the content of the signed document.

IDEF is one of the top ten largest defense industry exhibitions in the world and one of the most significant arms exhibitions in Europe.

The IDEF exhibition provides an opportunity to explore modern defense technologies and samples in various branches of the defense industry, showcasing the latest developments in military equipment available for export on the global arms market.
