Young Turkmen athlete Sulgun Ishankulieva claimed victory at the international TEN-PRO Global Junior Tour tournament in Dubai, leaving no chance for her opponents in the U11 age category. In the final match, she confidently defeated Georgia’s A. Beradze with a score of 6:2, 6:1, Turkmenistan: Golden Age reports.
On her way to victory, Ishankulieva successively defeated athletes from Algeria, the UAE, Russia, and Kazakhstan.
This success was not accidental for the young athlete, who started playing tennis at the age of four. She already has a title from the "Autumn Cup" in Istanbul and a silver medal from the previous TEN-PRO Global Junior Tour tournament in the U10 category.
A remarkable fact is that Sulgun's talent was recognized by specialists at the prestigious Patrick Mouratoglou Tennis Academy in France, where global tennis stars like Serena Williams, Naomi Osaka, and many others have trained. A month of training at this academy significantly improved her game, as evidenced by her recent successes in international tournaments.
As of today, Sulgun Ishankulieva is a member of Turkmenistan’s U14 women's national team and trains at the "Ashgabat" academy.
The TEN-PRO Global Junior Tour consists of 14 international tournaments held at leading tennis academies worldwide for athletes in age categories from U10 to U16. The Dubai tournament took place on the courts of Rackets Academy and gathered talented tennis players born between 2009 and 2017 from around the world.
