In Abu Dhabi, AD Ports Group and Tajikistan’s AVESTO Group have signed an agreement to establish a joint venture providing logistics and freight forwarding services across Tajikistan. AD Ports Group will hold a 51% stake, AVESTO — 49%, Avesto.tj reports.

Initially, the JV will operate as an asset-light freight forwarder with exclusive rights to manage logistics for AVESTO’s subsidiaries, while also serving third-party clients.

AVESTO is one of Tajikistan’s largest private industrial conglomerates, comprising over 30 enterprises and partnering with eight international joint ventures. The collaboration aims for phased expansion and to strengthen Tajikistan’s role in the Middle Corridor.

Abdulaziz Al Shamsi of AD Ports Group highlighted Tajikistan’s growing industrial base and strategic location as key enablers for advanced logistics solutions. AVESTO CEO Muhammad Mirzo stated: “We are not just moving cargo — we are building a strategic gateway connecting Central Asia to global markets.”

The deal reinforces AD Ports Group’s Central Asian footprint and supports the development of east-west trade routes—linking Tajikistan via the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, and Georgia to Europe.
