Over the past four years, Afghanistan’s army has ensured the country’s security through its own capabilities and today functions as an independent and well-structured force, Chief of the General Staff of the Islamic Emirate’s Armed Forces Mohammad Fasihuddin Fitrat said, Ariananews.af reports.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the statement was made during a meeting with media representatives, political analysts, and government officials focused on coordination and strengthening cooperation. Fitrat noted that a state which does not rely on its own security resources cannot expect sustainable long-term development.
The head of the General Staff emphasized the important role of the media in maintaining security and building public trust in the armed forces. He stressed the need for joint efforts by the state and society to ensure stability and national development, expressing confidence in the army’s ability to safeguard Afghanistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Fitrat added that the leadership of the Islamic Emirate continues efforts to build an army equipped with modern weaponry and capable of responding effectively to any threats. According to him, the armed forces have already demonstrated their readiness to deliver a firm response to hostile actions and have clearly conveyed that any aggression against Afghanistan will be met with decisive measures.
