Acting Minister of Industry and Trade of Afghanistan, Nuriddin Azizi, called on Uzbekistan to participate in the development of Afghan oil, gas, and copper deposits, reports Kun.uz.

Last week, Azizi met with Uzbekistan's Minister of Mining Industry and Geology, Bobir Islamov.

According to Azizi, investments in northern Afghanistan are advantageous due to their proximity to regional markets. The Afghan minister proposed investing in copper deposits in the provinces of Ghazni and Herat and establishing mineral processing plants in Afghanistan.

Islamov, in turn, suggested signing an investment support agreement between the two countries. He also mentioned the creation of two large copper processing plants in Uzbekistan that are in urgent need of raw materials.

As a result of the meeting, it was decided that an official delegation from Uzbekistan will travel to Afghanistan to conduct research and technical work.
