According to the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the talks preceded the signing of a feasibility study agreement for the Trans-Afghan Railway Project — a flagship initiative designed to link Afghanistan with Pakistan and Uzbekistan, creating a vital transport corridor for the entire region.

Acting Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi described the project as “a cornerstone of regional integration,” emphasizing that its success lies in “shared benefits and shared responsibilities achieved through sincere and sustained cooperation.”

The foreign ministers of Pakistan and Uzbekistan voiced strong support for peace and economic stability in Afghanistan, noting that the current security environment offers unprecedented opportunities for regional development. Both highlighted Afghanistan’s pivotal role as a land corridor connecting Central and South Asia, opening new routes for trade, energy, and investment flows.

The meeting concluded with a joint commitment to continue trilateral dialogue and deepen political consultations, underscoring a common vision of regional prosperity and interconnected growth
