Over the past four months, Afghanistan has returned 80 trucks to Turkmenistan that were transporting substandard oil and liquefied petroleum gas, the Afghan news agency Bakhtar reports.
According to the National Agency of Afghanistan for Standardization (ANSA), the decision to reject and send back tanks with low-quality oil and liquefied gas is part of efforts to oversee ports and prevent the import of substandard goods into Afghanistan.
Just a few days earlier, dozens of tankers with subpar fuel were returned to Iran.
In early August, ANSA announced the return of 67 railcars with substandard fuel to Uzbekistan. The company "Uzbekneftegaz" explained that the petroleum products sent to Kabul were produced according to standards that had not yet been registered by the Afghan side.
