At the beginning of 2025, a meeting took place in Kabul between Afghanistan’s Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum, Hidayatullah Badri, and the General Director of TAPI Pipeline Company Limited, Muhammetmyrat Amanov.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the latest developments in the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project, as well as issues related to accelerating the remaining work on the project, Orient.tm reports.

Special attention was given to creating new jobs for Afghans and enhancing the skills of Afghan engineers involved in the project.

In December, a delegation from Turkmenistan reviewed the progress of construction on the Serhetabat-Herat section in Afghanistan. Construction of this section began in September 2024 and represents a crucial stage in the implementation of the TAPI pipeline project.

The continuation of TAPI pipeline construction on the Serhetabat-Herat section, referred to as "Arkadagyň ak ýoly," is included in Turkmenistan’s oil and gas sector work plans for 2025. This highlights the project’s significance for Turkmenistan and its commitment to further implementation.
