The mission of observers from the CIS countries is monitoring the preparations for early presidential elections in Kazkahstan. Observers is in Kazakhstan since October 27, 2022, Riteurasia reports.
The mission published an interim report on its activities, which, in particular, noted that Kazakhstan has created all the necessary conditions for international election observation.
As of November 14, documents have been submitted for accreditation of 174 observers representing the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member States, the Parliamentary Assembly of the CSTO, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union Belarus and Russia, as well as the CIS Executive Committee. 10 observers work on a long-term basis.
Representatives of the Mission discussed the course of the election campaign with the leadership of the Central Election Commission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Supreme Court, the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Observers met with presidential candidates S. Tursynbekova and K. Abden, election headquarters of candidates K.-Zh. Tokaev, Zh. Dairabaev, M. Kazhyken, N. Auesbaev.
The Mission Headquarters appealed to the Central Election Commission, the Prosecutor General's Office, the Supreme Court and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan with a request to inform them about the results of consideration of citizens' appeals received by them related to violations of the electoral process.
The Mission will set out its final conclusions and assessments in the final document based on the results of monitoring the preparation and conduct of extraordinary presidential elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
