As of today, 3,936 industrial enterprises and production facilities are operating across Tajikistan, Avesta.tj reports, citing the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The manufacturing industry accounts for the vast majority — 3,407 enterprises, or about 87% of the total. This sector includes food and light industry, construction materials, ore and metal processing, and other industrial branches.
The extractive sector comprises 354 enterprises engaged in mining minerals, coal, precious stones, and other natural resources. The energy and environmental sector is represented by 72 enterprises supplying electricity, gas, steam, and air purification services. In addition, 103 enterprises are involved in water supply and waste processing, reflecting growing attention to environmental issues and sustainable industrial resource management.
Industrial activity is concentrated in several key regions:

Sughd Region – 1,301 enterprises (33%)

Khatlon Region – 897 enterprises (22.8%)

Dushanbe – 849 enterprises (21.6%)

Districts of Republican Subordination – 703 enterprises (17.9%)

Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) – 186 enterprises (4.7%)
According to experts, these figures indicate steady progress in the country’s industrialization. The implementation of national strategic programs — particularly the initiative “Years of Industrial Development (2022–2026)” — is creating favorable conditions for strengthening production infrastructure and further expanding Tajikistan’s industrial base.
