Anniversary summit of heads of Central Asian states to be held in Dushanbe

Tajikistan has begun preparing for the adoption in Dushanbe of the Fifth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia.

The summit will be held from 14 to 15 September this year with the participation of the presidents of all five states of the region in the capital of Tajikistan, Sputnik reports.

It is expected that following the summit, the parties will adopt a number of important documents, the main of which will be the Joint Statement of the Leaders of the Central Asian States.

In addition, during the anniversary consultative meeting, the presidents will discuss further cooperation between the countries of the region in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

"The Dushanbe high-level meetings will help strengthen the process of developing regional cooperation, further strengthening security and stability in the region," the Tajik Foreign Ministry stressed.

At the same time, Dushanbe will host the Economic Forum, the International Exhibition of National Products, a meeting of members of the Dialogue of Women Leaders of Central Asia, an exhibition of artists, the First Forum of Rectors of Higher Educational Institutions, a meeting of transport ministers and a gala concert of masters of culture and arts of Central Asian states.
