Annual inflation slows down in Kazakhstan

In Kazakhstan, in March 2023, annual inflation slowed down, amounting to 18.1% (in February - 21.3%). In the context of the regions of Kazakhstan, inflation has slowed down in all regions of the country, Kazinform reports.

The highest values of annual inflation were recorded in the Mangistau region, Astana and the North Kazakhstan region.

Food prices slowed down to 20.5% y/y in March (26.2% in February). The maximum increase in prices for goods of this group was in the Mangistau region (26.8%), and the minimum - in Almaty (18.7%).

Growth rates of prices for non-food products slowed down to 18.1% y/y. The maximum value was recorded in Astana (28.7%), the minimum - in the Almaty region (13.6%).

Prices for paid services in March slowed down to 14.4% y / y (in February - 15.0%), while prices rose significantly above the national level in Akmola, Mangistau and Ulytau regions (by 17.8%), significantly lower - in Astana (11.0%).

In March 2023, the monthly inflation growth in the country amounted to 0.9%, which is higher than the historical average.
