The Chairman of the Mejlis (Parliament) of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, met with the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who arrived in Ashgabat for the trilateral summit "Turkmenistan - Tajikistan - Uzbekistan," Turkmen state agency TDH reports.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the prospects for further expanding Turkmen-Uzbek relations, taking into account the significant potential and priorities of social and economic development in the neighboring countries.
The national leader of the Turkmen people expressed confidence that the negotiations within the framework of the summit of the heads of Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan would provide an excellent opportunity to exchange views on the prospects for trilateral partnership and the expansion of cooperation in trade, economy, politics, culture, humanities, and other areas.
The trilateral summit of presidents is attending president of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, who has also arrived in Ashgabat.
