"TAJIKISTAN FASHION WEEK" took place in Dushanbe. It was attended by representatives of ministries and departments of Tajikistan, local and foreign designers from Iran, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, the Khovar agency reports.
The ninth season of TAJIKISTAN FASHION WEEK was dedicated to satin, adras and silk fabrics. All the clothes that were shown on the catwalk were made from these traditional fabrics.
This season selected Tajik silk, which has its rich centuries-old history, said Malika Yorboboeva, head of the Light Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan.
Proof are the numerous samples of silk fabrics that can be seen in the expositions of local museums, as well as in world-famous museums such as the British Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Hermitage, the Museum of Ethnography in St. Petersburg, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the USA. .
In total, 22 well-known designers took part in TAJIKISTAN FASHION WEEK, 16 of them were designers from Tajikistan. 27 best design students from the Technological University of Tajikistan and the State Institute of Fine Arts and Design of Tajikistan also took part and presented their work. It should be noted that the holding of the Fashion Week in the country contributes to the development of fashion and products of domestic designers, as well as the development of the industry in most foreign countries.
According to Malika Yorboboeva, this business session will become a regular event during Fashion Week in Tajikistan and will help two interconnected light industry sub-sectors to reach a new level of development.
