The doors of Afghanistan are open to companies from Central Asia, stated the head of the Taliban Ministry of Industry and Trade, Nuruddin Azizi, at the KazanForum, Sputnik reports.
"Currently, many countries are in need of Afghanistan's mineral resources. We have large reserves of lithium and iron, as well as various construction materials and deposits of precious stones. We hope that investors will be interested in our economy," he said.
As noted by the agency, the Taliban are actively participating in the KazanForum.
"The Afghan delegation plans to discuss with the Russian side issues of mutual trade and attracting foreign capital to the country," the publication's message states.
It's worth noting that earlier reports indicated that Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan agreed to establish a large-scale logistics hub in Afghanistan's Herat province to develop regional trade.
Many countries have expressed interest in developing deposits in Afghanistan, including companies from Central Asian countries. For example, the Kyrgyz company "Allatoy" has expressed its intention to engage in gold and antimony mining.
