A branch of the Kazakh company KMG Drilling and Services has opened in Ashgabat for further activities in Turkmenistan related to drilling operations at the Cheleken field. This was reported by nCa with reference to the press service of the national oil company of Kazakhstan KazMunayGas.
Drilling operations will be carried out by the first offshore jack-up floating drilling rig (JFDR) built in Kazakhstan, Satti, fully equipped with advanced technologies.
KMG Drilling & Services LLP is a subsidiary of KazMunayGas, a leading provider of drilling services in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea, the owner of the first offshore drilling rig (JFDR) Satti. The company was founded in 2008.
This event marks an important stage in strengthening bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
During the official visit of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Turkmenistan, JSC NC KazMunayGas and the State Concern Turkmennebit signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The activities under the memorandum are aimed at expanding partnership in the oil and gas sector and open up new opportunities for both parties, the source notes.
