At the "Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan" business forum in Tashkent, agreements worth $206.6 million were signed, reports Sputnik-Uzbekistan.

Of these, $142.6 million were for agreements and memorandums on the creation of joint ventures, and $64 million were for trade contracts.

Among the promising directions, the parties identified increasing the export of finished textiles, food products, plastics, footwear, IT services, fertilizers, building materials, household appliances, and pharmaceuticals from Uzbekistan, as well as the supply of demanded goods, including large and small livestock, coal, food products, building materials, and other items from Kyrgyzstan.

Following the forum, 20 trade agreements were signed in the chemical industry and agriculture sectors, as well as an agreement to establish a logistics center.

More than a hundred delegates participated in the forum, which was timed to coincide with the state visit of the President of Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan.

President Sadyr Japarov is already in Tashkent, where he was greeted at the airport by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Currently, there are about 280 enterprises in Uzbekistan with Kyrgyz capital. Bilateral trade has increased fourfold since 2020.

The last similar forum was held last year in Bishkek, ahead of the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Kyrgyz Republic. At that time, a significant package of agreements totaling more than $1.6 billion was signed following the forum.

It is worth noting that the first business forum was held in 2017, also in the capital of Uzbekistan.
