Camel racing to be part of sports programme at Asian Youth Games in Bahrain

The Olympic Council of Asia has announced the sports and age requirements for the III Asian Youth Games, which will take place from October 22 to 31, 2025, in Bahrain.

Hussein Al-Musallam, the Director General of the sports organization, in his letter to the presidents and general secretaries of 45 national Olympic committees, stated that the decisions were made in collaboration with the Organizing Committee of the Asian Youth Games in Bahrain, Orient.tm reports.

Young athletes aged 14 to 17 from various Asian countries will participate in the competitions. The games will feature 24 sports, including: athletics, badminton, 3x3 basketball, equestrian sports, esports, futsal, golf, handball, judo, jiu-jitsu, mixed martial arts, road cycling, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, triathlon, wrestling, weightlifting, kabaddi, volleyball, and teqball.

Among the disciplines is camel racing, after the Olympic Council of Asia officially recognized the World Camelids Sports as the governing body of camel racing in Asia last month.

The III Asian Youth Games will be an important event for youth, providing an opportunity to showcase their sporting achievements on the international stage.
