The summit of the Central Asian countries and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) will take place on May 5 in Samarkand. This was announced by Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov, reports Gazeta.uz.
He made this statement following the third meeting of the foreign ministers within the strategic dialogue “Central Asia – Gulf Cooperation Council.”
Bakhtiyor Saidov described the summit as “an important step toward deepening ties between our regions.”
The first “Central Asia – Gulf Cooperation Council” summit was held in July 2023 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The GCC includes six Arab countries with access to the Persian Gulf: Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and Qatar.
