Tajikistan has registered 28 gold deposits, some of which are currently being developed, said Sherali Kabir, Tajikistan’s Minister of Industry and New Technologies, at the first international investment mining and metallurgical forum in Dushanbe, reports Avesta.tj.

The minister clarified that the country has identified four gold-bearing belts and 18 promising areas, along with significant reserves of various minerals, including 1.8 million tons of lead, 4.7 million tons of zinc, and over 100,000 tons of silver, placing Tajikistan fifth in the world for silver reserves.

Kabir noted that Tajikistan also possesses substantial reserves of copper, aluminum, lithium, graphite, nickel, and rare earth metals.

To ensure transparency and attract investment in the mining sector, Tajikistan plans to establish a National Subsoil Center. According to the minister, as global demand grows for non-ferrous metals used in "green" technologies, Tajikistan, with resources such as copper, aluminum, lithium, cobalt, and zinc, aims to strengthen its position in the global market.

Kabir emphasized that Central Asia holds about 38.6% of the world’s manganese reserves. Tajikistan accounts for approximately 270 million tons of this resource, along with 20% of global lead reserves and 5.8% of aluminum reserves.
