Central Asia – Italy Ministerial Conference took place in Rome

The "Central Asia – Italy" Ministerial Conference took place in Rome with the participation of the heads of foreign ministries from Central Asian countries, Italy, as well as representatives from the European Union, reports Orient.tm.

The heads of the foreign ministries discussed the state and prospects of cooperation in the international arena, particularly in matters of maintaining and strengthening regional and global stability, expanding interregional cooperation, including in trade, economic and investment spheres, transport connectivity, energy, and ecology.

Turkmen Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov highlighted the significant role of Turkmenistan's neutrality as an effective tool for promoting peace and stability in his speech, paying special attention to issues of regional security, ecology, transport, water resource management, transitional energy, and cultural and humanitarian interaction.

Within the framework of the forum, three thematic sessions were also held: "Energy Transition and Global Challenges," "Connectivity," and "Higher Education and Knowledge Networks."

The parties agreed to systematically cooperate within the "Central Asia - Italy" format and develop a medium-term action plan for this, according to the Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs' press service.
