Results of the consultative meetings have elevated regional cooperation to an unprecedented level, giving it a systematic, comprehensive, and, most importantly, trust-based nature, said the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, following the VI Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia.
"Thanks to joint efforts, long-standing key issues are being resolved. Comprehensive measures are being taken to ensure regional stability and security. Issues related to borders, water supply, and migration are being systematically addressed, and many barriers in mutual trade have been removed. Border crossing points are being modernized, transport links are expanding, and new routes are opening up. Trade, economic, and investment cooperation is developing dynamically," he noted.
A landmark event in the context of improving interaction mechanisms, as emphasized by K.-J. Tokayev, was the approval of the Roadmap for the development of regional cooperation until 2027. The document is aimed at improving intergovernmental coordination and enhancing control over the implementation of initiatives proposed at this platform. Additionally, another important document aimed at developing regional cooperation was signed – "Central Asia - 2040."
"These and other steps are evidence of our shared commitment to comprehensive regional interaction for the benefit of our peoples," the President of Kazakhstan emphasized.
