Central Asian countries step up participation in global processes

The countries of Central Asia are becoming more active participants in world processes, President of the International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Artem Chaika said at the Bishkek Investment Summit, Sputnik reports.

“The states of the Central Asian region are becoming more and more active participants in world processes. This part of the Eurasian economic space is gaining great prospects in the “turn to the East” declared by politicians and experts. Now this is an obvious reality,” Chaika said.

He noted that the region's economy is growing on average by 3.6% per year, and the population - by 2%, and import volumes are also increasing. The Central Asian countries are developing cooperation both among themselves and with other states.

There are five states in Central Asia - Kazakhstan. Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The population of the region is about 80 million people.
