Changes await Uzbekistan's auto industry

The Chairman of the joint-stock company "Uzavtosanoat" reported to Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on ongoing efforts in the automotive industry and plans for 2025, the Uzbek presidential press service reports.

The automotive sector accounts for 10% of Uzbekistan's industry. Over the past ten months, 338,000 passenger cars have been produced, and 1,400 types of components have been localized. Economic measures have reduced production costs in the industry by 4%. During this period, cars worth $455 million were exported.

"In the coming year, plans are in place to produce 450,000 vehicles and increase exports to $700 million. Cooperation with regional enterprises will be strengthened, and localization will be expanded. Specifically, 63 projects worth $325 million will be implemented to develop the production of 700 components," the statement said.

In turn, the head of state instructed to establish orders for domestic enterprises based on cooperative efforts.
