Participants of the China-Central Asia Summit signed more than 100 multi- and bilateral agreements with Xi'an. The event itself marked the beginning of a new stage in Beijing's relations with these countries. This was stated by Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang during a press conference, the Russian edition of Parlamentskaya Gazeta reports.

As a result of the event, a number of new formats and mechanisms for interaction between China and Central Asia were established. This will benefit the deepening of relations and the development of cooperation in all areas between China and these republics, the diplomat stressed.

Agreements were also reached on supporting each other in the international arena. China and the five Central Asian countries reaffirmed their focus on protecting the multilateral world order and counteracting unilateral policies, the Chinese minister said.

The summit participants agreed on mutual support on issues related to fundamental interests, including those related to sovereignty, security and development tasks. Practical cooperation between China and Central Asia will be built on the basis of mutual benefit, the Chinese Foreign Minister specified.

Beijing and its Central Asian neighbors intend to join forces to counter new threats, both traditional and non-traditional. The parties will pay special attention to the fight against color revolutions in the region, Qin Gang promised.
