The volume of Chinese investments in Kyrgyzstan's economy was highlighted by Damirbek Bikulov, Deputy Director of the National Investment Agency, during a Kyrgyz-Chinese consultative meeting, reports 24.kg.
In the first nine months of this year, the volume of direct Chinese investments in Kyrgyzstan amounted to $221.5 million.
“It is also important to note that the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway will become the shortest route to the global market, linking East and West through the China-West Asia-Europe corridor via Kyrgyzstan. This will transform the structure of the Eurasian transport network and, in the future, symbolize the revival of the Great Silk Road,” said Damirbek Bikulov.
In turn, Chinese entrepreneurs expressed interest in Kyrgyzstan’s investment opportunities and confirmed their intention to strengthen bilateral relations and enhance cooperation between the two countries.
