Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Transport, Absattar Syrgabaev, participated in the forum "New Routes, New Markets: Global Gateways and Potential Markets Along the Middle Corridor," which took place in Germany. This was reported by the press service of Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Transport.
The event focused on the development and prospects of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), also known as the Middle Corridor. This route connects China through Kyrgyzstan and other Central Asian countries with the Caucasus, Turkey, and Europe, creating new opportunities for international trade and logistics, reports Economist.kg.
Speaking at the forum, Minister Syrgabaev emphasized Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to expanding the country’s transit potential and entering new international markets. He paid special attention to the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, calling it a key strategic link between East and West.
"This project will strengthen trade and economic ties and reduce delivery times for goods from China and East Asian countries to Europe and the Middle East by approximately 7-8 days," the minister noted.
Additionally, Syrgabaev spoke about the ongoing efforts in Kyrgyzstan to modernize transport and logistics infrastructure, as well as the implementation of advanced digital technologies. These measures aim to simplify freight transportation processes, accelerate transport operations, and enhance Kyrgyzstan’s transit potential.
