Gao Zhidan, the General Director of China's sports bureau, shared details of video conference negotiations with the leadership of Turkmenistan's State Committee for Sports and Physical Culture, "Turkmenistan" newspaper reports.
The primary focus of the discussions was the practical implementation of prior agreements between Turkmenistan and China in the field of sports. It was reported that, in the near future, China will send its coaches to train athletes upon Turkmenistan's request. These coaches will be responsible for preparing Turkmen athletes.
During the meeting, Gao Zhidan acknowledged the successful performance of Turkmen athletes at the recently held Chinese Asian Games, where Turkmenistan was represented by 88 participants. According to the head of China's sports bureau, the judo and wrestling athletes delivered impressive results.
Furthermore, both sides reaffirmed their mutual readiness to work on promoting sports activities and sustaining dialogue for the development of sports cooperation between Ashgabat and Beijing.
