A capsule has been laid in Kyrgyzstan for the construction of the city of the future Asman on Lake Issyk-Kul, the press service of the President of Kyrgyzstan reports.
“We will build an innovative city on the shores of our pearl of Lake Issyk-Kul and become an economic and tourist center,” said Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov at the capsule-laying ceremony for the construction of the city. Guests from Bishkek and foreign investors from countries such as South Korea, India, Turkey, etc. came to the ceremony of starting construction.
According to the president, Asman should become a financial hub connecting East and West, North and South, and a locomotive for the economy of Kyrgyzstan.
“Not a penny from the state budget was spent on the project of the city of Asman and the beginning of its construction. This is due to the fact that there are external investors who are interested in participating in the implementation of such a large project,” Zhaparov added.
Earlier it was reported that from a height, the city of Asman will look like the national Kyrgyz musical instrument komuz, which is also depicted on a 1 som banknote. The area of the new city will be 4 thousand hectares, 500-700 thousand people will be able to live in it. Approximate terms of the project implementation are from seven to ten years.
According to the concept, the ecologically clean city of the future Asman should become the economic and tourist center of the country, where the introduction of an advanced educational system, the construction of modern business centers and financial and credit institutions are envisaged. The city will also have landscaped areas and parks, modern tourist and sports infrastructure.
It is assumed that the production will be based on high-tech developments of a smart city using alternative energy sources, optimal resource consumption, environmentally friendly modes of transport, as well as in compliance with the principles of a green economy.
The city of Asman will be built on the northern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul, 230 km from Bishkek. Investments in the amount of $20 billion will be attracted for the construction.
