The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan sent a delegation to meet with the London Bullion Markets Association (LBMA). This became known from the explanation of the purpose of the trip of the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Edil Baisalov to London, Asianews.info reports.
It is noted that the delegation headed by Edil Baisalov is in London at the invitation of the LBMA to strengthen and expand cooperation with this organization and its main participants.
In September last year, the LBMA canceled the accreditation of the refinery of Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC. Before that, the government of Kyrgyzstan introduced external management at the Kumtor enterprise and continued to confront the Canadian company Centerra Gold Inc. In June 2021, the LBMA reported that it was investigating Kyrgyzaltyn’s actions in connection with supply issues and the possibility of fraud, and therefore deprived the Kyrgyz refinery of the Good delivery status.
Kyrgyzstan lost the opportunity to sell gold to Western countries for almost a year. In May 2022, the LBMA restored the Good delivery status of the Kyrgyzaltyn refinery.
The refinery is located in the city of Kara-Balta not far from the capital Bishkek.
