At a meeting of the Government of Turkmenistan, a draft program for Turkmenistan's socio-economic development and investments in 2025 was presented, reports Orient.tm.
The program aims to accelerate economic growth through production diversification and the introduction of innovations. Special attention will be given to industrial development, job creation, and improving the population's living standards.
Key objectives include increasing the competitiveness of the national economy by producing high-quality, export-oriented, and import-substituting goods, boosting foreign trade turnover, strengthening food security, protecting the environment, expanding digital technologies and the "green economy," and fostering a favorable business environment by promoting small and medium-sized enterprises. Measures will also be taken to improve legislation aimed at attracting investments and strengthening public-private partnerships.
In 2025, investments will be directed towards implementing projects such as the development of the next phase of the Galkynysh gas field, the construction of the Şatlyk-1 gas compressor station, the Serhetabat–Herat section of the gas pipeline called "Arkadagyň ak ýoly," which is a critical part of the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India pipeline, a combined-cycle gas turbine power plant with a capacity of 1,574 MW in the Balkan region, an international airport in Jebel, the Ashgabat–Turkmenabat highway, and a bridge over the Garabogazgol Bay. Special attention will be given to implementing one of the largest projects in the region—the second phase of constructing the city of Arkadag.
