Talks were held in Dushanbe between the Director of the Civil Aviation Agency under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Habibullo Temur Nazarzoda, and the President of the Civil Aviation Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Pourfarzan, who arrived at the invitation of the Tajik side, Avesta.tj reports.

The discussions focused on expanding bilateral cooperation in civil aviation, including increasing the number of flights and launching new air routes connecting Kish–Dushanbe, Kish–Khujand, and Shiraz–Dushanbe.

Nazarzoda emphasized that within the framework of the “Open Skies” policy, implemented under the decision of the Government of Tajikistan, international airports across the country offer a 40% discount on all types of services for airlines. This measure aims to attract new foreign carriers and stimulate the development of international air connectivity.

The two sides also discussed capacity-building initiatives for aviation specialists and the organization of joint training programs.

Currently, flights between the two countries are operated by Somon Air (Tajikistan) and Varesh Airlines (Iran). Beginning November 19, 2025, Raymond Airlines will start regular flights on the Mashhad–Dushanbe–Mashhad route, while Kish Airlines plans to launch charter flights between Kish and Dushanbe from November 28, 2025.

According to both sides, these initiatives represent an important step toward enhancing transport connectivity, expanding business and tourism exchanges, and strengthening bilateral relations between Tajikistan and Iran.
