Dushanbe to host Forum of Rectors of Central Asian Universities

The second forum of rectors of higher educational institutions of the Central Asian countries will be held on September 14, 2023 in the capital of Tajikistan, Dushanbe, the Ministry of Education and Science of Tajikistan reported.

The event is planned within the framework of the fifth anniversary consultative meeting of the leaders of the Central Asian countries, which will be held in September in the capital of Tajikistan, the ministry noted.

The rectors of universities in Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan will discuss the prospects for developing cooperation in the field of science and education at the forum.

In addition, the ministers of education of the countries of Central Asia will take part in the meeting.

Earlier it was announced that on September 14-15 Dushanbe will host the Fifth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and a meeting of the Council of Heads of State - Founders of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea.

Within the framework of the summit of the heads of states of Central Asia, a number of events are planned:

  • economic forum;
  • international exhibition of national products;
  • meeting of the members of the Dialogue of Women Leaders in Central Asia;
  • exhibition of artists;
  • festival of national dishes;
  • a meeting of transport ministers and a concert of masters of culture and art of the Central Asian states.

The first Forum of Rectors of Central Asian Universities was held in 2022 in Almaty on the basis of the Kazakh National University.
