Economic agreements signed by Uzbekistan and Qatar approved

The President of Uzbekistan has signed two resolutions "On the Approval of an International Treaty," Uznews.uz reports.

The signed documents approve the following agreements between the governments of Uzbekistan and Qatar, which were signed in Samarkand on June 6, 2023:

  • on mutual encouragement and protection of investments;
  • on the elimination of double taxation regarding income taxes and the prevention of tax evasion.

The Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan, as well as the Tax Committee of Uzbekistan, have been designated as the authorized bodies responsible for the implementation of the signed international treaties.

After the entry into force of these international agreements, the Cabinet of Ministers and the heads of relevant ministries and agencies of Uzbekistan have been instructed to monitor the implementation of the provisions of the documents, Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan reports.
