Electricity production in Uzbekistan decreased

In Uzbekistan, electricity production for 7 months of the current year decreased by 5.5%, according to the report of the Statistics Agency of Uzbekistan for January-July 2024, Kun.uz reports.

Over 42.8 billion kWh of electricity was generated during the year. Over the month, electricity production in the country increased by 16.17%.

A new version of the law on the regulation of the energy industry was adopted in Uzbekistan in early August. In addition to the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan, the Cabinet of Ministers, the Agency for the Development and Regulation of the Energy Market, as well as local executive authorities of Uzbekistan will be responsible for state regulation of the industry.

Earlier it was reported that businesses in Uzbekistan will have their increased tariffs for electricity and gas reduced.
