Emomali Rahmon held talks with Prime Minister of Russia

Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin discussed a wide range of issues of the Tajik-Russian strategic partnership and allied relations in Dushanbe, Avesta reports.

The parties noted the positive dynamics of relations between the two countries in many areas of cooperation, especially in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as the close interaction of the parties in the field of security.

Russia remains the main trading partner of Tajikistan and continues to occupy a leading position in the structure of Tajikistan's foreign trade turnover. In 2022, the growth of trade between the two countries increased by 23.7% and amounted to $1.674 billion.

The parties noted the great potential that both countries have to increase mutual trade and joint implementation of large investment projects on a mutually beneficial basis.

President Rahmon praised the achieved level of cooperation in the humanitarian sphere. At the same time, interest was expressed in further expanding practical ties in the fields of education, science, culture and healthcare.

An exchange of views took place on topical issues on the international and regional agenda, the press service of the President of Tajikistan reports.

Russian Prime Mishustin arrived in Dushanbe to participate in the 9th Interregional Cooperation Conference and Business Forum of Tajikistan and Russia.
