Following a nearly two-week absence from the country for medical treatment in China, President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan has resumed his diplomatic duties. On February 16, the Head of State held a series of high-level meetings with foreign representatives, according to Asiaplus.tj.

During a meeting in Dushanbe with Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister, Yermek Kosherbayev, discussions centered on strengthening allied relations and finalizing the schedule for upcoming top-level visits. Earlier, Kosherbayev met with his Tajik counterpart, Sirojiddin Muhriddin, to discuss joint ventures in energy and transport.

President Rahmon also received Zou Jiayi, the head of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). The parties focused on:

  • Infrastructure Funding: Financing major projects within the Republic of Tajikistan.
  • Green Energy: Investing in renewable energy and regional transport connectivity.

Rahmon’s two-week stay in China, officially attributed to medical procedures, sparked significant media discussion. However, the current series of meetings in Dushanbe is intended to demonstrate the stability of the state administration and the continuity of Tajikistan's foreign policy course.
