The European Commission announced its intention to implement projects in Tajikistan aimed at creating a "more just and democratic society," Russian RT reports.

Approximately 3 million euros will be allocated from the European budget for the implementation of these initiatives.

The task of project implementers, which should be non-profit structures, is to support civil society organizations in Tajikistan “as recognized actors in the process of democratic governance,” the European Commission explained.

At the same time, the EC proposes to pay special attention to working with young people, combating disinformation and promoting freedom of the media.

Thus, the implementers are expected to conduct capacity building trainings for professional journalists, security forces and members of the judiciary in order to ensure freedom of the media.
