The first container train with goods from the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine (AMMC) has been sent to the port of Burgas in Bulgaria, the press service of the joint-stock company Uzbektemiryulconteiner (Uzbek Railway Containers) said, Xinhua reports.

The first container block train consists of 46 wagons and 91 units of 20-foot containers. It moves along the route "Uzbekistan - Turkmenistan - Azerbaijan - Georgia - Bulgaria / Europe" with a length of more than 4000 km.

The movement of the train is organized in cooperation with foreign partners from Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Georgia.

Recall that the so-called Middle Corridor (Trans-Caspian International Transport Route) is being developed as part of the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative. If by sea the cargo from China to Europe takes 30-40 days, then by train the delivery time is reduced to 15-25 days.
