Kyrgyzstan’s tourism industry is experiencing record-breaking growth. In the first half of 2025, the sector generated 30.1 billion soms ($344 million) in gross value added — a 29% year-on-year increase, Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev announced at a government briefing, citing Vesti.kg.
Investment inflows are even more striking: capital expenditures in tourism infrastructure surged 2.7-fold, climbing from 4.2 billion to 11.3 billion soms — a clear signal of rising confidence among both domestic and international investors.
The momentum has earned global recognition. In 2025, Kyrgyzstan was named one of the world’s top 50 travel destinations by the prestigious Financial Times, praised for its pristine mountain landscapes, untouched nature, and authentic cultural experiences.
“The summer season was a success. Now, we must focus fully on preparing for the winter tourism season,” Kasymaliev emphasized, signaling the government’s commitment to building a year-round tourism economy.
With record performance and international accolades, Kyrgyzstan is unlocking new opportunities — from job creation and foreign exchange earnings to regional leadership. The country is rapidly emerging as Central Asia’s next premier tourism hub.
