The G7 intends to cooperate with the countries of Central Asia to resolve regional challenges, the G7 leaders said in a joint statement, Sputnik reports.
"We emphasize the intention to cooperate with the countries of Central Asia to resolve various regional challenges," the message says.
The challenges, according to the document, are the situation in Ukraine, the destabilizing effect of the situation in Afghanistan, problems in the field of food and energy security, terrorism and climate change.
The G7 countries stressed their intention to strengthen trade and energy ties, as well as support projects in the field of transport, including the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR).
TITR runs through China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey and continues on to European countries.
The 49th summit of the "Big Seven" (G7) began its work in the Japanese city of Hiroshima on May 19. .
