GDP of Kyrgyzstan grew by almost 4% in 5 month of 2023

The GDP of Kyrgyzstan in January-June 2023, according to preliminary estimates, amounted to 453 billion soms or $5.17 billion. Compared to the same period in 2022, the Kyrgyz economy grew by 3.9%, Economist.kg reports with reference to the National Statistics Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

GDP growth is provided by industries. The growth rates of commodity production sectors amounted to 7.6%.

Positive trends were observed in construction - 11.2%. Also, a significant increase was observed in textile production (by 38.5%), the production of rubber, plastic products and building materials (by 16.9%), food products (including drinks) and tobacco products (by 10%), as well as in mining (by 6.1%).

At the end of 2022, the GDP of Kyrgyzstan amounted to $10.9 billion.

Inflation for 5 months of 2023 amounted to 5.1%.

Prices for food products and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 3.6%, for non-food products - by 6.4%, for alcoholic beverages and tobacco products - by 7.7%, tariffs for services rendered to the population rose by 5.8%.
