The price of gold on world markets is setting new records. On July 17, it reached $2,480 per troy ounce.

Thus, as Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov said during a meeting of the board of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, “a positive environment is emerging for the development of many of our gold deposits, which were not previously highly profitable.”

Since the beginning of the year, the price has increased by more than 21%, while international analysts expect a further increase in demand for gold. All this is beneficial to the development of the republic’s economy.

“...An increase in the price of gold will allow us to mitigate the effect of a decrease in physical production at Kumtor,” noted A. Japarov. “We must increase the pace of launching new industrial capacities, increase capital investments, and actively absorb incoming foreign investments, both in large international projects and medium-sized joint projects.”
