Commenting on the implementation of the 5-year National Development Program of Kyrgyzstan until 2026, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov said that Kyrgyzstan had fulfilled its obligation to increase GDP in 2022, Akchabar reports.

He elaborated on the results of 2022. Thus, last year 650 measures were envisaged, of which 78% were completed.

“The activities not completed in 2022 were transferred to this year, they were not removed from control. Under this program, we have committed ourselves not to reduce GDP growth below 5%. This is what we have done. Last year, GDP growth was 7%. And for the first time among the EAEU countries, we came out on top. The volume of GDP, if calculated for each citizen, we set the task of bringing it to $1500 in 5 years. We completed this task in 1.5 years,” Zhaparov said.

He continued that the volume of foreign investments exceeded $1 billion. The volume of attracted investments in relation to the country's GDP amounted to 10%.

“According to the plan, the volume of external debt compared to GDP should not exceed 60%. We were able to reduce it by 41.7%. We paid off the state debt, including external debt, in full, there were no delays in interest. I want to note that external debt sometimes increases, sometimes decreases, but we are introducing a policy of taking more funds from the domestic economy. Almost all developed countries do this,” the head of the Cabinet said.

The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan announced data on the economy of Kyrgyzstan at a meeting of two parliamentary francs - Respublika-Ata-Zhurt and Mekenchil.

Meanwhile, the Butun Kyrgyzstan faction, which is not part of the coalition of the majority of the parliament, proposed to dismiss the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan.
