Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan Saimumin Yatimov visited Kyrgyzstan 2 times in 10 days, Knews.kg reports.
It is worth noting that the head of the special services of Tajikistan is the main negotiator on border issues with Kyrgyzstan. According to media reports, Yatimov is also considered one of the most influential people in President Rahmon's entourage, Knews.kg agency writes. Below is the material from the telegram channel without changes:
Work on the demarcation of the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan may already be approaching a decisive stage. And this is evidenced not only by the intensive work of the topographical groups of both countries, but also by a secret visit to Kyrgyzstan by the chief security officer of the neighboring republic. So it became known from the words of sources in the government, over the past 10 days, the chairman of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan (GKNB) Saimumin Yatimov crossed the border of our country.
The purpose of his visit is unknown, but it can be assumed that this visit is somehow connected with the solution of the border issue between our countries. At least, it can already be confidently assumed that the neighboring republic is serious about a positive solution to the issue. Moreover, this time the Kyrgyz side, as they say, was thoroughly prepared.
First of all, this, of course, is the solution of the long-term border issue between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. Earlier this year, the leaders of both countries exchanged instruments of ratification and signed a declaration on a comprehensive strategic partnership.
Now, with the disappearance of the occasion for border conflicts, there are boundless opportunities for economic cooperation. As a result, the first results were not long in coming. What is worth only one joint construction of the railway "China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan" and other large projects.
In this regard, perhaps, this example has become indicative of its kind, and Tajikistan has come to certain conclusions.
Also, one should not discount the measures to strengthen the combat capability of the Kyrgyz army, taken by President Sadyr Japarov and the head of the State Committee for National Security Kamchybek Tashiev, which turned out to be effective.
Based on the example of past conflicts, the country's leadership made the right conclusions: no one will protect the Kyrgyz, except for ourselves. And this means that in order to defend the interests of Kyrgyzstan, it is necessary to form a normal army - then we will be reckoned with.
The opposition criticized the authorities regarding the acquisition of "Bayraktars" and, in general, for focusing on strengthening the combat potential of the armed forces of the Kyrgyz Republic. However, as practice shows, only by strengthening ourselves will we be able to speak with our neighbors on an equal footing.
Despite the fact that the border problems of the Batken region have existed for all thirty years of independence of the Kyrgyz Republic, none of the past presidents paid due attention to the issues of equipping the Kyrgyz army. Even when Tajikistan began to use mortars in these conflicts and bring heavy military equipment to the border, demonstrating its readiness for a serious confrontation, the country's past leaders did not even think about taking any steps in order to try to change the situation. The current authorities made up their minds and in less than a short time created a modern, combat-ready army in Kyrgyzstan.
