Radical changes are taking place in Uzbekistan's healthcare system as a result of large-scale reforms. The budget allocation has significantly increased, and a broad path has been opened for the development of the private sector—strengthening the material and technical base and the human resources of the field, creating a healthy competitive environment, expanding the network of services, and improving their quality and efficiency. Modern advanced technologies are being actively introduced into diagnostic and treatment practices, according to a report by the President of Uzbekistan, Ritmeurasia.ru reports.
According to Mirziyoyev, new practices are being applied to provide high-quality medical care to vulnerable segments of the population on a targeted and community-based basis, at the level of mahallas. Programs such as "Electronic Clinic" and "Electronic Prescription" are being implemented. For this purpose, patronage workers are being trained according to international standards.
The Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Hematology has established the practice of donor stem cell bone marrow transplants, while the Cardiology Center conducts complex endoscopic surgical operations.
Doctors from the National Medical Center are successfully performing complex operations in remote areas using a mobile cardiac surgery unit purchased in Europe.
In the new, modern complex of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Oncology and Radiology—whose construction in our capital has become a unique mega-project in the medical field—early detection and treatment volumes will increase several times thanks to the conditions created and the latest equipment. There is no longer a need to spend extra time and money traveling abroad for treatment.
A decree was recently adopted on the introduction of state medical insurance mechanisms. According to this, free medical services and medication costs under the system will be covered by taxes paid into the State Budget.
All these facts were listed in President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's congratulatory message to healthcare workers. "We will consistently continue the important work of ensuring the vital interests and dignity of individuals, enhancing our focus on public health," emphasized the head of state.
