The world-famous online cinema Netflix will shoot a historical film about the hero of Uzbekistan Amir Temur, better known as Tamerlane. It is planned that most of the exterior shooting will take place in Kazakhstan, and interior shooting in Uzbekistan, the news agencies of these countries report.

The feature film will be called "Tamerlane" and will tell about the life and formation of the Central Asian Turkic-Mongolian great commander, who played a huge role in the history of Central, South and Western Asia, as well as the Caucasus, the Volga region and Rus'. The film will be shot jointly with cinematographers from the USA, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Famous foreign actors will also take part in the project.

Directed by Jacob Schwartz. Stunts for the historical project will be staged by the well-known stunt company from Kazakhstan Nomad Stunts. Schwartz noted that it was no accident that he chose this company for stunts, as he needed a different angle of view and a look at the eastern culture of the people who live in this region.

"I hope that we can tell the story of Amir Temur and make it interesting for the Western audience. Local stories are now gaining more and more popularity, and I would like our film to help build a bridge between Western and Eastern audiences," Schwartz said.

Filming will begin in spring 2023.
