The club team of Turkmenistan became the winner of the international hockey tournament, which took place in Ashgadad and took place from April 15 to 20, 2024, Hronika.tm reports.
Teams from Turkmenistan, Bahrain, Belarus, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Oman, Russia, Uzbekistan, and Turkey took part in the tournament.
The victory in the tournament was won by the Turkmen club “Galkan”, which beat the team from Tatarstan “ADIHIC-Kazan” with a score of 4:2 in the final match.
Based on the results of the competition, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov awarded the honorary titles “Honored Master of Sports” to the coaching staff and hockey players of “Galkan”.
Members of all hockey teams, including foreign ones, sent a letter of gratitude to the head of Turkmenistan for organizing the tournament.
“Given that Turkmenistan has become a center for major competitions, we firmly believe that it is appropriate to declare white marble Ashgabat an international sports capital within such a prestigious organization as the CIS,” the hockey players wrote.
