The results of the third review of the IMF Policy Coordination Program for the Republic of Tajikistan were discussed in Dushanbe at the final meeting between the International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation and representatives of Tajikistan’s government economic bloc, reports Pressa.tj.
Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Firdaus Tolibzoda noted that the program is being implemented according to the established schedule, with key indicators and reform goals achieved. He emphasized the country’s stable economic growth and effective monetary policy that keeps inflation below the target level. According to him, further success largely depends on the stability of the economies of Tajikistan’s main trading partners.
Head of the IMF mission Matthew Gartner highly appreciated the progress made and expressed readiness to consider the Tajik side’s proposals. Following the meeting, both sides confirmed their intention to continue cooperation aimed at strengthening financial stability and supporting inclusive growth.
Firdaus Tolibzoda stressed that the successful implementation of the program will create additional opportunities to attract financing for priority social and infrastructure projects and will strengthen the confidence of international partners in the country’s economic policy.
